Ask China Expertise for advice

It's not hard to see that Mr. Böge's expectations towards a Chinese customer are wrong. He assumes to come across a well organised manager looking for support in technical questions and  as a consultant expects to work together with someone who is not immune to advice. In China this heavily depends on how you contribute your recommendations. However, Mr. Böge didn't expect such an inefficient chaos which finally caused his lack of motivation. It is nevertheless important to exercise a lot of patience. A valuable source of information and hints are seminars which prepare you and your employees for such situations.

Mr. Böge's situation will only change if Mr. Li improves his organisational abilities. Convincing him to do so is not very easy as he is in the position of the customer. Mr. Böge could make use of his good personal relation with Mr. Li and for example have a private conversation with him in order to tell him about other managers who became even more successful thanks to suitable methods or seminars.
